Today i will show how you can easily search at Google for any type of file format. REMEMBER…. Google.com is a Search Engine, which not only index web pages but also files / documents. You can easily find files at Google with their respected extensions.
How Will I Search For Files
You can make searches at Google for any file format with the help of filetype search operator in 2 ways
1. First write the type of file (file extension) you are looking for and then type name or title of the file (like the way you search for web pages)
filetype:file-format
2. or you can also write name or title of the file first and then the type of file you are looking for
your-search-query
In either way, the search results will remain same. For example, i am looking for a pdf document related to “How to do blogging”. You can see below my search query and results
You can also make a search for multiple file types with the help of another search operator OR. In this way, you will get the search results for multiple file types. For example i am looking for a ppt (power point file) and a doc (word document file) related to “computer history”. You can see below my search query and results
